  • This project brought together two creative businesses with shared values and a clear vision: to create a brand identity for The Botanical Cake Company that felt as refined and personal as the cakes themselves. Led by Frances Winter, The Botanical Cake Company is a wedding cake studio known for its lifelike sugar flowers and delicately hand-finished designs. The goal was to develop an identity that captured this craftsmanship while remaining timeless, elegant, and easy to implement across all platforms — from wedding fairs to digital touchpoints.

    The branding process began with a collaborative exploration of tone, mood, and message. From the outset, it was clear that the identity needed to feel classic yet distinctive — something that would appeal to high-end wedding clients without being trend-led or overly decorative. The result is a clean, characterful logotype paired with a soft, botanical-inspired icon. Supporting typography and a muted colour palette bring warmth and clarity, providing consistency across packaging, stationery, and promotional materials.

    The design was carefully tailored to reflect Frances’ aesthetic and personal approach. The logo feels refined but unfussy — confident enough to carry the brand in isolation, yet versatile enough to sit comfortably alongside editorial photography or detailed cake visuals. Brand guidelines were created to ensure consistency across print and digital formats, and to give Frances the tools she needed to manage the brand confidently as the business evolved.

    The website was designed and built using Squarespace, offering a responsive platform that allows The Botanical Cake Company to showcase its growing portfolio while communicating clearly with prospective clients. It features elegantly structured galleries, intuitive navigation, and curated copy that speaks in the studio’s own voice. The layout prioritises clarity and emotion — giving equal weight to aesthetics and usability — with subtle animations and soft transitions that reinforce the brand’s attention to detail.

    To support visibility at wedding fairs and client meetings, a range of branded promotional materials were also developed. These included printed flyers, business cards, and flexible templates that could be updated seasonally or adapted to different audiences. Every touchpoint was designed to feel consistent, confident, and unmistakably part of The Botanical Cake Company.

    More than a logo or website, this was about creating a brand that feels both personal and professional — elegant without excess, and grounded in genuine craftsmanship. The resulting identity gives The Botanical Cake Company a strong, distinctive voice across platforms, and a foundation for continued growth in a highly visual and competitive industry.
