  • What types of projects do you work on?

Winter Jones works across a broad range of projects, from small residential schemes and creative commissions through to branding and digital work for businesses. While the outputs vary, the approach is always the same: thoughtful, design-led, and tailored to the individual project rather than a fixed formula.

We’re particularly well suited to projects where care, collaboration, and clarity matter.

Do you work on small projects?

Yes — many of our projects are relatively small in scale. We believe good design isn’t defined by size or budget, and smaller projects often benefit the most from careful thinking and clear guidance.

If your project feels modest but important to you, it’s still worth getting in touch.

Where are you based, and where do you work?

Winter Jones is based in Ruthin, North Wales and we work primarily across North Wales and the North West of England. That said, some creative and digital projects can be undertaken remotely, depending on the brief.

If you’re unsure whether your location is suitable, feel free to ask.

How does the process usually work?

Every project starts with a conversation. From there, we’ll help define the brief, understand your priorities, and outline a clear process tailored to the work involved.

We place a strong emphasis on clear communication, realistic timescales, and making sure you understand each step before moving forward.

Do you offer an initial consultation?

Yes. An initial conversation is always encouraged and is typically informal and exploratory. It’s an opportunity for you to explain what you’re hoping to achieve and for us to advise on next steps, feasibility, and whether we’re the right fit for each other.

There’s no obligation to proceed beyond this stage.

    How do fees work?

Fees vary depending on the scope, complexity, and timescale of the project. Wherever possible, we aim to provide clear, fixed fees for defined stages of work.

We’re always upfront about costs and will explain what is included, what isn’t, and where additional services may be required so there are no surprises later on.

What if I’m not sure exactly what I need yet?

That’s very common. Many clients come to us with an idea rather than a fully formed brief.

Part of our role is helping you clarify what you need, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and explore options before any major decisions are made.

Do you work with other consultants or contractors?

Yes. Depending on the project, we often collaborate with trusted consultants, builders, and specialists. Where relevant, we can help coordinate input and advise on when additional expertise is required.

Can you help with planning, approvals, or technical requirements?

Where applicable, we can guide you through the relevant processes, explain what’s required, and help prepare the necessary information.

We aim to make what can feel like a complicated system clearer and less intimidating.

How long do projects usually take?

Timescales vary significantly depending on the nature of the project and external factors. At the outset, we’ll give you a realistic indication of likely durations and key milestones, and we’ll keep you informed as things progress.

We’re honest about what can be controlled — and what can’t.

Do you take on every enquiry?

No — and that’s intentional. We’re selective about the projects we take on to ensure we can give each one the time, care, and attention it deserves.

If we’re not the right fit, we’ll always be open about that and, where possible, point you in a helpful direction.

    How do I get started?

The best place to start is simply by getting in touch via the contact form or email. A short overview of your idea, site, or challenge is more than enough to begin the conversation.

From there, we’ll take things step by step.
